5 Tasty Halloween Treats

Written By: Adriana Ramirez

Spooky season is here, you know what that means. It’s time to take our simple and plain everyday snacks and revamp them a bit. It’s the month when all our werewolves, witches, zombies, superheroes, princes, and princesses come to play, so why not have some fun and dress up your food as well. We’ve got five great ideas that you can use to help you start your food makeover.

Try these 5 tasty Halloween treats!

Pretzel Ghosts

This snack is super sweet, simple, and yummy to eat. You just need white chocolate, regular pretzels, and mini chocolate chips. Put all the white chocolate in a small bowl and put it in the microwave for 30-second increments until it’s melted. Once the chocolate is fully melted start to dip the pretzels in the chocolate until they are covered. After they are covered add the chocolate chips for the eyes and voila, you have your ghosts.

PB&J Spiders

To get started with this snack you will need the following ingredients: bread, peanut butter, jelly of your choice, small stick pretzels, and mini chocolate chips for the eyes. Now take any drinking cup you have and use it to cut out circles from your bread, it’s like using a cookie cutter but for bread! After they are cut, make your PB&J sandwich as normal. After that is finished, slide in four stick pretzels on each side of your sandwich. These will be the spider legs for your spider. Then, to top it off, put two chocolate chips on top of your sandwich to complete your spider look.

Apple Teethapple monster

All you need with this delicious snack is an apple of your choosing, peanut butter, and marshmallows! Have an adult help you cut your apple in slices, from there you will get two slices and spread your peanut butter on one side of each slice. Before sandwiching each slice together stick mini marshmallows onto the peanut butter to represent the teeth.

Frankenstein’s Veggie Fingers

This snack works best with long fingerlike veggies. You can use carrots, celery, cucumber, or asparagus and have your favorite dip. Have an adult help you cut your veggies to look like fingers with the wrinkles and knuckles. As a fingernail, you can carve out where it would be or use almond as a fingernail.

Popcorn Monster Hand

To make your monster hand you’ll need plastic disposable gloves, preferably the ones you can see through so you can see your creation. Add the candy corn first because these will be your colorful fingernails, then add your popcorn into the glove. If you like to make it even tastier add in your favorite candy for a tasty snack!
